My farm is truly blessed © Kathy Ralph 2011 Someone visited me once, and as we walked outside the laundry door, I made a comment about the never ending problem one has in the country with leaves. "Which tree are they coming from?" They asked. "All of them." I replied. Sometimes we really don't see the wood for the trees! Trees The leaves can be a nuisance, falling from the trees, But every time I sweep them up, and then get on my knees, I realise where I would have been, if there were never trees. There would be, no homes for birds, no shade from our hot sun, I'd have no leaves to sweep up, and the work would all be done, Of course there'd be no tree huts, so kids could have some fun. The greens and gold and beauty, to us would all be gone, The life upon our planet, wouldn't last for long, Not to mention music, made by birdies with their song. What about the air we breathe? Who would make it then? I wouldn't like to have to leave, production to the men, For they would never make enough, they'd never start 'til ten. By the time they argued, and decided what to do, They'd have used up all the air, from breathing it for you. So I will smile, and keep the trees, and keep the dead leaves too!
