My farm is truly blessed © Kathy Ralph 2011 On most days wherever you see the horses you see this little Cattle Egret following along behind. He is their constant companion. So there they are the 'Big Babies", I have now introduced you to Lulu and Buddy, and I hope I have given you a little insight into the pleasure they bring me. Horses are the most honest, loving and gentle animals, they always give back what they get. Treat them with kindness and love and you will be rewarded many thousand times over. They have helped man to build most of society's foundations. Their strength and loyalty has never been repaid with a single golden sovereign. Their reliance on food shelter and sustenance is always in the hands of their human master. We have tamed them, broken them, beat them, fenced them, and taken away their ability to roam as horses should, but they never complain. I salute my equine friends and rejoice that they can live out their retirement at peace, at large and much adored. So graze the grass my darlings, Await me by the gate, Bless me with your presence, Eat off a golden plate.
