My farm is truly blessed © Kathy Ralph 2011 Saving Lucy Wandering alone in the bush, was a tiny little soul The ranger came and found her, "It's to the pound you go!" There she sat bedraggled, so scared and all alone, A tiny little prisoner, sitting on death row. Then one day a lady came, and picked her out to save, "We'll send her into foster care, and try to have her placed." So she went up for adoption, her picture on the net, Hoping she would be chosen, as a much beloved pet. I was looking on the internet, and saw her saddened eyes, I knew I had to have her, I felt instant emotional ties. And so I rang the rescuers, and adopted the little girl, They said they'd named her Lucy, and she was a little pearl. She caught the plane to Brisbane, flew Qantas on her own, I met her at the airport, and then I took her home. Now this little angel is once again secure, I look into her sweetest eyes, I couldn't love her more. When I think about the human beings on this planet that can carelessly abandon a tiny little defenseless animal, and leave them alone to battle the harsh Australian elements, I become infuriated. It is time that harsh penalties were given, or maybe even better, we abandon them in the bush to fend for themselves, pick them up three weeks later, send them to prison, sit them on death row and then see if anyone will adopt them! What say you?
