My farm is truly blessed © Kathy Ralph 2011 Do five eggs make an omelet? That was a brief introduction to the chicken's lives. They truly are fascinating to watch as they scratch and investigate all that surrounds them. They have become real time wasters. The Chicken House He is just a Rooster, a handsome one at that, He doesn't seem to worry about my friend the cat. He struts around the farmyard, a comb upon his head, He crows and crows each morning, when he gets out of bed. His girls they are so gorgeous, models every one, They tease him with their bodies, playing in the sun. Every day when the girls get up, they quickly make their beds I don't know what is wrong with them 'cos they go back, instead. Then there's all this cackling, girly talk no doubt About what they'll get up to, when at last they do go out. And then I sneak upon them and see their little heads Poking out to tell me that, they've all laid an egg! So now we have visited the chicken house 'The "Hilton" and you've met all the girls. Now we will go back to the house and feed the birds, and of course the other three littles, Pushka, Stable Cat and Bunny. But, as we're walking back I hear a rustle, I look to where it comes from and there he is … one of the resident lizards. Lay your eggs, my dear girls, And scratch amongst the dirt, For when your mother comes home, She'll promise to feed you first.
