My farm is truly blessed

I am truly blessed to have
finally found a home where I
can appreciate the beauty of
God's creation that surrounds
me each and every day. I
would like to share a tiny
piece of it with you, if you
have the time.
My love of animals started
when I was about 5 years
old. I was presented with a
somewhat skinny and mangy
and very tiny wild ginger
kitten found in the bush.
I named him Milky for he
delighted in lapping up the
saucer of milk, the first food I offered to
him, somewhat as a peace treaty. I never
ever considered that he was born wild and
may never be comfortable with humans.
Food conquered his fear, and allowed me
to experience for the first time the
meaning of unconditional love. I lost my
little friend, he was destroyed by my father
because he scratched me during a game
we were playing.
Some years later, following the departure
of my Father from our family unit, a black
stray cat presented himself to me. This was
a blessing indeed as I was in desperate
need of something to pour my love into
and my heart still ached for Milky. I named
him Sooty as he was as black as the soot
that came from our chimney. That soot
from the chimney, was mixed with salt
and used to clean my teeth each morning.
Sooty and I were inseparable and I
delighted in spending my one penny
pocket money on a one penny ice cream
for him.
